Marz and Associates (“Marz,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit marz.build (the “Website”), request a quote, contact us for support, or place an order in our online store, how we use that information, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to answer your questions, prepare quotes, process and ship orders, and support you afterward. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

1. Information You Give Us

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Submit our Quote Request or contact form (powered by Gravity Forms): typically your name, company, email address, phone number, project location, and details about the products or services you need.
  • Place an order in our online store (powered by WooCommerce): your name, company, billing and shipping addresses, email address, phone number, and the items you purchased.
  • Create a customer account: your name, email address, addresses, and a password you choose.
  • Submit tax exemption information at checkout or in your account.
  • Email or call us, or message us on Facebook.

2. Payment Information

Online store payments are processed by the WooCommerce Intuit (QuickBooks) Payments gateway. Your card details are sent directly to the payment processor over an encrypted connection. Marz and Associates does not see or store your full credit card number. We keep only the payment confirmation, transaction ID, card type, and last four digits needed to service your order. Intuit’s handling of your payment data is governed by its own privacy policy at intuit.com/privacy.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, we collect some technical information automatically:

  • Website analytics. We use Independent Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics plugin that runs on our own website rather than sending your browsing data to a third-party advertising network. It records pages viewed, referring website, browser and device type, and general location derived from your IP address, and it does not use tracking cookies. We use this to understand which products and pages are useful and to improve the Website.
  • Cookies. Our online store uses cookies that are required to keep items in your cart, remember your login session, and complete checkout. Our caching and security tools may set technical cookies as well. You can block cookies in your browser, but the cart, login, and checkout will not work without them.
  • Security and server logs. Our web server and security software (including firewall and malware protection) log IP addresses, request details, and login attempts to keep the Website safe and to block abusive traffic.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your quote requests, questions, and support inquiries about our products, services, and online orders.
  • Process, fulfill, ship, and provide tracking for online orders, and send order confirmation, processing, completed order, and customer note emails.
  • Manage your customer account and tax exemption status.
  • Prepare proposals and coordinate installation projects.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the Website.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision making, and we do not send marketing email lists. If we ever introduce an email newsletter, it will be opt-in only.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Website and fulfill orders, and only for that purpose:

  • Our payment processor (Intuit / QuickBooks Payments) to charge your card.
  • Shipping carriers and product manufacturers or distributors, to deliver your order or drop-ship items to you.
  • Our website hosting and development provider, Fox Valley Web Design LLC, which maintains the Website and its backups on our behalf.
  • Software vendors whose tools run on our site (WooCommerce, Gravity Forms, Independent Analytics, security and caching plugins). These tools process data on our site and, in the case of the payment gateway, on the vendor’s systems.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a lawful request, to protect our rights or safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.

6. Social Media

Our Website links to our Facebook page (facebook.com/marzandassociates). If you follow that link or interact with us on Facebook, Meta’s privacy policy applies to that activity. We do not embed Facebook tracking pixels on marz.build.

7. Data Retention

We keep order records for as long as required for tax, accounting, and warranty purposes (generally seven years). Quote requests and support messages are kept for as long as they are useful for serving you and your project. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Analytics data is stored on our own server and is periodically summarized or purged.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can review and update your account information at any time on the My Account page. You may ask us to correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@marz.build. We will honor your request unless we are required to keep certain records (for example, completed order and tax records). Wisconsin and other U.S. residents may exercise these rights without any charge. We will never discriminate against you for making a privacy request.

9. Data Security

The Website is served over HTTPS, protected by a web application firewall and malware scanning, backed up daily, and monitored by a security plugin that limits login attempts. Payment data never touches our server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable and industry-standard measures to protect your information.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Website is intended for businesses, contractors, schools, and adults purchasing commercial products. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Website and tools change. The effective date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
